Fun at the Ballgame

Samuel has had great time playing basketball this season. He has scored points each game and has had fun. He only has one more game. He does not play baseball, so it a season of rest (in the sports world) for The Sparks Family. He has his eye fixed on school being out, RA Camp, and Walt Disney World now.

The girls have had a great time at Bubba's ballgames too. They especially love Skittles time with Big Daddy.

The girls also love to play on the court after the game when Samuel is getting his stars.

Isaiah 61:11

For as the earth brings forth its bud,
As the garden causes the thing that are sown in it to spring forth,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to
spring forth before all the nations.

I was amazed at how blue the sky was yesterday and the tree in our front yard is beginning to bloom and I was reminded again that God is in control of all things...

What's Been Going On

Thanks to all who have been praying for us and the sickness that has run rapid through our house. We are all feeling much better, finally!

Here are a few pictures from the past couple of weeks.

Samuel was part of the Science Fair at his school this week. His project was "Do Family Member's Have Similar Fingerprints?" He found out that yes, family members do have similar fingerprints. He had fun taking everyone's fingerprints. He was a little disappointed that he didn't win, but we think his looked great!

Hannah Grace had a great time playing basketball with Daddy last week, while we were waiting for Bubba.

And as always, Faith is all smiles!!!!
Again, thanks for your prayers and have a great week-end!!!

Friday Family Funnies - Don't Vote for Hillary

The other day Samuel was part of a conversation about the Presidential Election and who they thought would win or who they would vote for. Grammy said, well we sure can't vote for Hillary. Samuel spoke up real quick, I didn't know that Hillary Duff was running for President.
I guess we need to work on his current events a little...

One In A Million

I think my mother-in-law is One In A Million. After this past week-end, she is not only One In A Million to me by the way she loves me and helps me and listens to me and many, many other ways; she is One In A Million in the Medical world, too.

This past Thursday, Cathy went in for a routine colonoscopy. Everything with the colonoscopy was fine and after the procedure, Tommy took her home and she rested for about an hour. Her plans were to take a nap, eat a little lunch and then work on a paper that was due. When she woke up from her nap, her side was hurting and then the pain went up to her shoulder. Tommy had read on her discharge papers that if you had pain in your shoulder to call the doctor back. They called the doctor and the doctor told them to come right back to the office. When they got to the office, the doctor sent them directly to the ER. When Cathy arrived in the ER her blood pressure was something like 80/50 - very, very low! The doctor tried a couple of different things but then decided he was going to have to do surgery. Cathy was bleeding from the inside, he just didn't know from where. The doctor ended up having to remove her spleen. When he was doing the colonoscopy, the scope had "pinched" the spleen and the spleen was bleeding out. Once the spleen was removed her blood pressure and vitals began to return to normal. Until yesterday she was in ICU and then was moved to a regular room yesterday. As of this morning, her body was doing just as it needed to and they were going to try some food. If she tolerates the food well, she might be able to go home tomorrow!

It was a very scary week-end. Travis was able go to the ER and be with his mom - I think for a moment everyone thought that she wasn't going to make it, and from talking I think that she had lost so much blood that her body was not far from going into shock.

God had seen this family through another trail and as always, they continue to praise Him and give His the glory for all He has done.

God has blessed me with such a wonderful family and extended family, I can not even put into words how much I love all of them.

To each of you (you know who you are), I LOVE YOU!

And to Cathy, you have always been One In A Million to Me!

Please continue to pray for Cathy, she has a long recovery ahead of her, but she is strong and determined and I know that God will see her and help her gain strength each day.

Friday Family Funnies - Back to Normal

Faith loves her Baby, but Baby was looking pretty rough despite a good "ride" in the washing machine. Last week, we made a trip to Belk to get a "New" Baby. When I picked Faith up from Aunt Amanda's I told her that Baby was waiting in the van for her. She rushed out to the van to her beloved Baby. We didn't fool her. She kept asking why Baby was pink...where did I get the pink soap...why did she have pink boots on? Finally, she threw New Baby at me and said..."I want her back to normal!"

She since then has taken New Baby in and loves her like her own, even if she's not normal.

Happy Valentine's Day

Sorry I have not posted in a while. I have been sick, then Travis got sick, and then Samuel was sick. He was home from the school the past two days. He was ready to go back today. I don't think it was for learning, I think it was because of the party!!!!

Please pray that we all continue to feel better and that the Lord protects the girls from getting sick.

I got the sweetest card from Samuel this morning. He went with me yesterday to Wal-mart and as I was picking out a card for Travis, he asked if he could pick out some cards. He picked out one for each of his sisters and one for Daddy and one for me. He was so cute. We went through the self check-out line and he even rang them up so I wouldn't see my card. Then when we got home, after a 3-hour nap, he went in his room and closed the door to write his cards. I was going to show you the front of the card, but I forget my camera at home. It read: "To Mommy From Your Son".

I am very proud of the young man he is!

He is such a sweet, caring, and loving young man because he has a sweet, caring, and loving Daddy!

Happy Valentine's Day to my wonderful husband, who by the way is looking great!!!!!! I didn't think he could get any better looking, but he is proving me wrong. He has lost almost 30 pounds so far, I am so proud of him.

Happy Valentine's Day to Each of You,

We Love You SnOw Much!!!

Friday Family Funnies - The Hardest Shot Ever!

This past Saturday at Samuel's game, he was fouled. He was given two foul shots. The clock had run out and they cleared the court, but still let Samuel take his two shots.

He shots...he misses. He shots again...he makes it!!!!!!!

During half-time, Big Daddy had taken the girls to get Skittles and he told his Big Daddy, That was the hardest shot I ever had to make, and I made it!

Basketball and Teddy Bear PJ Day

Today is Teddy Bear PJ Day at Hannah Grace's school. She has had her PJ's laid out all week just for this morning. She jumped right out of bed this morning, which is very unlike her, ready to go to school.

Faith felt left out, so she is going to stay in her PJ's all day. I wish I could have too!

Samuel had his first Basketlball game this past Saturday. He did great and scored a basket. He has another game this past Saturday and like his sister is so excited, his uniform is hanging on the end of his bed.

Have a great day!

Hey Sharon, don't you think Faith needs a haircut?!?

Friday Family Funnies-Late

I'm sorry that this Friday Family Funny is late. Faith had her 3-Year-Old check-up on Friday and she came to work with me and I didn't have time to log on. Anyway, for my faithful readers, all two of you - I am sorry.

Faith's check-up went great on Friday, she weighed 31lbs and the doctor said she was perfectly perfect. She was amazed at how long she had been potty trained given that my other two were over three before they were. Faith did great, so I told her that we would go have a lunch date with Daddy and she could choose where we would go. She said, "I want to go to Mexico". In Faith language we gathered that meant she wanted to go eat Mexican.

Samuel had his first Upward Basketball game on Saturday and hopefully I can share those pictures with you tomorrow.

Have a great week!

Friday Family Funnies

I don't have a funny from our kids this week, I just couldn't think of anything specific this morning. Of course, we have had funny moments this past week...

...last Friday night, was "Family Fun Night" and we stayed home and sang with Samuel's karaoke machine he got for Christmas. That was funny!

...Seth puked up a entire jar of Blueberry buckle baby food all over the living room floor. The kids thought that was funny, I didn't so much.

...The kids were acting silly before bed Thursday night, showing us their "muscles".

...and many more, pretty much everyday in our house is funny!

I told you I sat some goals for 2007 and I would share with you when the Lord allows me to fulfil one of those goals. Well, I also want to share with you how I have already failed in one of those goals, 12 days into the new year (I really have failed at more than just one!)

One of my goals was to send Birthday cards, on time. I have failed that this week. Our wonderful friend, Lana, had a birthday yesterday and nope - no card in the mail. Our other good friends, Scott and Sharon, their son, Caleb turned 14 on Wednesday and did I get a card in the mail? Nope. So there you go, be encouraged if you have already failed with a goal you set for 2007 - you're not the only one. So by God's grace, I will strive harder this coming week and send a belated birthday card.

Another goal that Travis and I set was to eat more healthy in the coming year and to be more healthy when we go to Walt Disney World this summer. We're not saying we are on a diet - we think that only sets us up for failure. We both have done well with this goal this past week. Travis has so much will power, it is amazing. The word is spreading, my husband, who used to HATE salads has had a salad fours days this week. He said last night he realized that, come Sunday, it will be the first week in his life, that he remembers, not having a french fry. I am very proud of him. Pray that God will help us become more healthy so we can enjoy our kids more. The picture is from our anniversary dinner. Hopefully, the next picture I post of us will be of a smaller us.

Have a great week-end!

Final Christmas Photos

Alright, I know that I am behind again on getting you caught up on Christmas, I am just so busy, that I haven't time much comptuer time.
So, here it is, a few last picture from Christmas 2006:
We had a wonderful visit with Mammy, Popeye and Cookie. They were able to attend church with us on Christmas Eve, which was a nice treat.
They brought Granny Hill and Nanny Ray along with them. It was so nice to have them in our home. We had a great time! Granny wrote me later that she had a great time and it "didn't hurt me at all". I'm glad they both made the trip,
I failed terribly as a mother this year in getting cookies made for Santa. In my head I was going to make sugar cookies (from scratch) and let the kids use cookie cutters to make adorable Christmas shapes and then let them decorate them (again, with homemade icing). Can't you just picture it...Well in reality, I went out on Christmas Eve and bought sugar cookie dough, already in squares, for the kids to make Santa's cookies. They did get to roll them in sprinkles!
Thankfully, my kids loved the cookies squares and we all had fun and "Santa" enjoyed his cookies.

Here they are, ready for Santa!

That's it, no more Christmas pictures. I'm done. We had a great Christmas together and are having a great start to 2007.

Friday Family Funnies - Who Is that Big Guy?

Travis' grandfather, who is 86, was remarried to Irene, who is 88, on Christmas Eve. We met her for the first time at the family Christmas get together. Pop introduced Travis to Irene, neither of them hear or see very well - Irene looked up at Travis and then asked Pop - "He sure is big, is he a wrestler?"

Have a great week-end!

*Note I have had a busy end of the week at work and the girls have been sick, so I will finished updating you on our holidays next week.

A Visit with Memama and Granddaddy

Yesterday when I shared about the girls birthday's I forget to post a picture of Hannah Grace's school Birthday snack. The day of her Birthday snack, the church that I work at was broke into the second time in two weeks. That day they had made a mess of my office and stolen my computer. I was not able to go to Hannah's school for the snack, but Grammy went for us.
I did tell you yesterday that the kids stayed with Memama and Granddaddy for a couple of night. My mom captured some great pictures of the kids while they were there.
More tomorrow....

Happy 2007!

Happy 2007 to everyone! In this new year, I too, have my list of things that I would like to do and change in 2007. I was going to post it, but after I have thought about it, I think I am going to keep it between me, my husband, and my Jesus. When the Lord allows me to fulfill one of my goals - then I can share with you how He helped me. I pray that He will help you fulfill all your goals, also!

Now, I said that I would try to catch you up on what has been going to in our lives since Thanksgiving. We have been very busy with work, school programs, birthday's, anniversaries, parties... I told someone at church on Sunday, the best thing that my family needs is our routine back. We have enjoyed the time off from school and work, but we are a routine family and we need that routine back.
I think I will start with the girls birthdays. Faith turned three years old on December 15th and Hannah Grace turned four years old on the 19th of December. We had their birthday party early so that everyone could come - that was great, but I seemed like we celebrated birthday's for weeks. Bubba was such a good Big Brother with Princess stuff EVERYWHERE! That week-end, the kids went and spent two nights with Memama and Granddaddy. They had a great time and it was nice to have time for Travis and I during the busy times.

For their birthday's Grammy and Big Daddy gave them tickets to see Disney Princess on Ice on the 15th. Mommy and Daddy took them and we had a great time. Mammy and Popeye had given them Wal-mart gift cards, so they each bought a new Princess costume; Faith went as The Little Mermaid and Hannah Grace was Cinderella.

On Hannah Grace's birthday we got together with our great friends the Adkins and the O'Shield's at Chuck-E-Cheese. What fun we had!
So that's the girls birthday's - more of our busy month tomorrow.

Again, Happy New Year!

Friday Family Funnies - North Pole Baptist Church

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We did. The kids had a great time. I have many pictures to catch you up on what has been going on in our lives from Birthday's to Christmas - hopefully I can do that next week.

We were on our way to church Sunday morning, Christmas Eve, and Hannah Grace ask us what we thought Santa Claus was doing that morning. We were telling her that he was resting getting ready to be up late to deliver their presents, Faith was adding her ideas and then Samuel, our little Deacon, said Hannah Grace, you know he's at North Pole Baptist Church.
Happy New Year!
