Haircuts Needed

The kids were in desperate need of a haircut and we had to cancel our appointment on Friday.....so Sha rescued us and made a house call yesterday afternoon. Thanks Sha-Sha!!

Pumpkins!

We enjoyed a fun day at the Pumpkin Patch after the games on Saturday - it was beautiful!

Game Week 4

Our Game Week 4 started by watch Woodruff play against Southside High School in Greenville.

Then on Saturday morning the girls had a game first thing.

Almost!Almost, again!

This is half-time - Daddy was giving the devotion and Hannah Grace WAS NOT HAPPY about not making those two goals. We've got to work on that - any suggestions on how to help a very competitive, hard on herself girl?Faith as always, is just having a good time!

This after the soccer game, Samuel had a football game. He did great; he had a fumble recovering.

Fan's of the week!

Sorry some of the pictures are not the greatest, but my camera is "sick"; it's going to have to go to the doctor or be replaced...

Konichiwa!

I am so excited about Hannah Grace's school and what our family is going to get to take part in. Her school participates in a cultural exchange program with Izumi Chuo Kindergarten in Gifu, Japan. Hannah Grace is going to be paired with a Japanese student who has made a "Home Stay Buddy Mitt". They have asked us to take a buddy and take pictures of things we do in America; where we live, what we like to eat, our friends etc. In November we will send a photo album of all the places and things we did for a few months and then in January they will send us things so we can learn about life in Japan.

We are so excited about this project - it sound like fun. They encouraged us, after the school year, to keep in touch with our new friend through mail and e-mails - I hope we can.

So, look for the places we take our Japanese Buddy in the weeks to come.

Friday Family Funnies - Just look for me

Next week is National Fire Prevention Week and Faith had a visit from the Fire Department this week and part of her "homework" was to talk about an escape plan and where we would meet if there was a fire in our home. We have talked about this before, especially after Aunt Cindy's and Uncle Rick's fire. Here's how it went:

Us: Faith, where are we suppose to meet if there is a fire in our house.

Faith: First, I'm going to STOP - DROP - and ROLL and then I will meet you at the tree.

Us: Where?

Faith" The tree.

Us: Faith, if there is fire in the house we are suppose to meet at the mailbox, the tree is too close to the house.

Faith: Well...if there is a fire in the house and I'm not at the mailbox, just look for me at the tree 'cause that's where I'll be.

Have a great week-end - it's GAME WEEK FOUR!

New Friends and Family

I have added a couple new "Friends and Family" to the sidebar, if you have a chance go check them out.

Miss Missy and Family - this is one of the teachers at Faith's school. My girls love Miss Missy!!!! Faith loves for it to rain during the week because she gets to go to "Miss Missy's Movie Theater"

Tate Time - this is Dave, Shannon and Max. Dave, or Big Dave as he is called around church, is the Youth and Children's minister at our church. We have grown to love their Family over the past year and we thank God for their friendship. Speaking of growing - the Tate Family is getting ready to grow sometime this month. They are awaiting the call to travel to Guatemala to meet and bring home their son, Samuel Davidson. We are so excited for Big Dave, Shannon and Max and can't wait to meet Sam.

Chinese Graffiti - this is the blog of my cousin Jake who is studying in China this semester. Please click on over and say a prayer for his learning and safety.

No Game Week 3

We didn't get to have our soccer game this past Saturday because of all of the rain on Friday. The girl's were a little disappointed, but I would not be telling the truth if I said that Travis and I didn't enjoy the morning at home.

On Saturday night we were able to go back to the first first church we served in, Southside Baptist in Gaffney. It was great to go back and see so many familiar faces and yet great to see new faces too (that means there has been growth!). Travis and I were able to sing with some dear friends again and both he and I were able to sing in a combined choir of new and old choir members. There are so many sweet memories from that time in our lives - we thank God for them!
So that's about it from The Sparks Family, but don't let that fool you - we are busy, busy, busy. I turned my calendar over this morning and was a little overwhelmed with the month ahead, but I know God will see us through. Happy October!
