School's Going Well

School is going well for all three kids. Faith loves to go and play with her friends. Hannah Grace is making new friends and brought home books to "read" yesterday. And, Samuel is doing well in getting his homework done before he is off of football practice.

The other day Samuel had to do a cube of their favorite things, Samuel's favorite TV show right now is Wipeout. We think he did a great job of drawing it!

Today is school picture day; here is our son, a handsome young man!

Have a great day!

Here They Are

Each of our kids are proving to be their own person, so below you will find a post for each of them on their first day of school.

First Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday, my first little girl began kindergarten. She couldn't wait to get to bed on Monday night and was up with the first time told on Tuesday morning; she has been counting down the days for the past two weeks. I know she is going to do great! So now, I'll let the pictures do the talking. Here's Hannah Grace ready to go! can't you tell by the look on her face? This is one of my favorite photos from the day - Daddy walking daughter down the same hallway he walked down at her age.One more picture before we went in her classroom.Finding her cubby. This is where my tears began - Hannah Grace hugged each of us by. As you can tell, Faith is not too sure about leaving her sister.

The tears continued to fall as I watched my little girl stand with her class and say the Pledge and have a moment of silence. We are so thankful for the teacher and principle at Hannah's school; I know during that moment of silence they were both praying for my child. At this point, I had to leave before I made a fool of myself.

First Day of 4-K

Faith started 4-K yesterday and was so excited. She sang this song all morning and all during the drop off process. If I can say so, isn't she just the cutest thing!!

First Day of 6th Grade

Samuel began 6th Grade and this season of football on the same day. He will be changing classes this year and was a little nervous about that, but he has loved it so far and we think he will do very well. I can't believe how tall he is getting - he is now taller than his Mom.

They Are Coming!

I learned something last week - you can not wash and dry a memory card reader and expect it to work the next day.

So, that is why I can't show you any pictures from the first day of school yesterday.

It was a good day. We began our drop-off's at 7:00am and then once the kids were all at school Travis and I had breakfast together and spent the day together. It's a tradition that I hope can continue every year.

Our round of pick-ups began at 1:30 and ended 3:30 - I have the funniest picture of Seth that really shows how we all felt by the time Bubba was getting into the car; come back Friday for that.

And to top it off - Samuel had his first football practice last night. The girls enjoyed playing on the playground, but Samuel had a pretty rough practice to start with. The summer of relaxing has now caught up with him.

I have to tell you I had some moments of tears yesterday, but none more special than last night. Samuel was having trouble finishing his lap around the field and was about to and wanting to give up. His Daddy, my wonderful husband, got on the field with him and ran/walked along side him until they both finished. Oh my goodness did the tears start to fall. I am so thankful that God has given me a husband who is such a wonderful Daddy.

Well, I did not intend for this post to be this long. But, I do promise, the pictures are coming!

Rewards

For the past two weeks the kids has been working on getting the things done on their chore chart each day; at the end of the week there is a "reward" of some kind. Last week we went to Chick-fil-a for supper and this week their reward was to go paint pottery (kids painted free this week-end). So on Friday evening we had a fun night together while Daddy was gone. It was a fun night out and it helped pass the time till Daddy came home.

Next week's reward is: Mommy and Daddy get to go on a date with some friends and Jaba and Sha-Sha are coming for supper.

Friday Family Funnies - Sing Me That Song

Last night we were getting ready for bed and Faith comes running up to me and says: Mommy would you sing me that song?
I asked here what song she was talking about and I finally figured out it was "Bye Baby Bunting". She kept saying, you know, that song, that song that you sing me sometimes, you know.

I have sang this lullaby to all my kids and just the other night Faith had had a nightmare and I climbed in bed with her and sang it to her (remember, she will always be my baby). When I was rocking two babies, I changed the words and they have stuck to "to wrap all my babies in".

Anyway, onto the Funny - after I sang the song to her she looked up at me with the strangest look and said: How does the Daddy get the rabbit skin?

Friday Family Funnies- Funny Pictures

Hannah Grace blowing bubbles.

Here's a picture of Faith when we were at Pump It Up a few weeks ago with church.

Faith was so sweet this morning - she climbed in bed with me and said:

Good morning, Mommy - I will always be your baby.

How could my day good bad when that's how it started.

I don't want to leave Samuel out, so here's a picture (not a funny one) of Samuel and Memama and Grandaddy. He spent the week with them last week and had such a good time.
We hope you have a great week-end!

Happy Birthday Grandpop Cool

Today is my Grandpop Cool's 83rd Birthday. I have been thinking about him a lot this morning; you see my Grandpop has Alzheimers - a terrible disease that takes away memories and so much more.
But today my memories have been flooding back...memories of the time I got to spend with them when I was little (about Faith's age) and memories of their house and the love that is felt when I walk inside it...memories and him putting wood on the fire when it was time to eat...memories of his big, strong hugs...so many memories. And although, those memories may have gone from his mind now, I have them and I thank God for them.
Happy Birthday Grandpop Cool!

I'm entering this contest (sorry Kristi - I guess we both could use the prize money). All that can happen is I not win, at least I tried.

What is more fun in the summer than watermelon?
