Friday Family Funnies - North Pole Baptist Church

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We did. The kids had a great time. I have many pictures to catch you up on what has been going on in our lives from Birthday's to Christmas - hopefully I can do that next week.

We were on our way to church Sunday morning, Christmas Eve, and Hannah Grace ask us what we thought Santa Claus was doing that morning. We were telling her that he was resting getting ready to be up late to deliver their presents, Faith was adding her ideas and then Samuel, our little Deacon, said Hannah Grace, you know he's at North Pole Baptist Church.
Happy New Year!

The Christmas Story

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.

So it was, that while they were there, they days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men!"

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this things that has come to pass, which the Lord has made know to us." And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

Happy 4th Birthday Hannah Grace Barbara

"O Lord of host, if You will indeed look on the affliction of your maidservant and remember me , and not forget your maidservant, but will give your maidservant a female child, then I will give her to the Lord all the days of her life." I Samuel 1:11

That was my prayer for three years and then the Lord answered my prayers on December 19, 2002.

Happy Birthday to our sweet, young lady, Hannah Grace!

Happy 3rd Birthday Faith Danielle

Today is our "baby" girl's 3rd Birthday. We woke up this morning and both said, we couldn't believe that our baby was three today.

Faith is such a joy to our life. She is always doing something or saying something to make us laugh. I was thinking this morning about the day I admitted to myself that, yes, I was pregnant again, only three months after the birth of Hannah Grace. I cried because I was pregnant and then I cried because I cried. I look back now and couldn't imagine our life without our little surprise blessing - our Faith!

Happy Birthday, Faith, we love you!

Friday Family Funnies - Lights for Baby Jesus

The kids are so excited about Christmas this year. Not just the present thing, but really excited about Christmas. Samuel is old enough to really understand why we have Christmas and the girls are learning fast. It has been so fun to watch them so far. Hannah Grace visited "Santa Shop" at her school this week and was so excited to be able to pick out presents for her family. It was wonderful to see her excited about giving a present instead of getting a present. Faith is the most excited out of the three. One night last week we were driving around looking at the Christmas lights. With every house that we passed she squealed in delight. About the fourth house we passed she squealed and said:

"Daddy, look at all the lights for Baby Jesus' Birthday!"

Have a great week-end!

Friday Family Funnies - It's a Secret"

Last Saturday when we got home from Kentucky we were all tired. Faith was asleep in her room, Samuel was in his room watching TV, I was on the couch (asleep), Travis was in his chair watching football and Hannah Grace was in our room watching TV. (Really, we all just needed time to ourselves for a while)

Anyway, after about an hour, Samuel came running into the living room - he said, "Where did all the hair in the kitchen come from?" I jumped up from my soft couch, knowing there was a little Sparks girlwith hair that had been cut, I was just not sure which one it was. Faith was my first guess, after all she did paint herself. She was still asleep. On to Hannah Grace. We found her on our bed, crying, with her face down. She wouldn't lift her head up. Her hair was still in a pony-tail, so I looked at it and it still looked to be the same length. We finally got her to look up at us and she had cut, to the scalp, the front of her hair - right in the middle.

Now this was a hard thing to talk to her about, because we didn't want her to think that we were upset by the way she looked, but we were upset that she had disobeyed us and cut something other than paper.

Well, we went to church and no one really said anything to her, they just ask us what had happened. We told her that when she went to school her teacher was going to ask her what happened. We said, "Hannah Grace, what are you going to tell your teacher?" She looked up at us and said, "I'm going to tell her it's a secret."

Have a great week-end!
